Book Review

Volume 104 • Number 3

July 2005

The Book of Lancelot: The Middle Dutch Lancelot Compilation and the Medieval Tradition of Narrative Cycles. By Bart Besamusca. Translated by Thea Summerfield. (Arthurian Studies, 53.) Cambridge: D. S. Brewer, 2003. Pp. ix + 210. $70.

Medieval Dutch literature is largely unknown in the English-speaking academic community, and for this reason Bart Besamusca's monograph on the Middle Dutch Lancelot Compilation is to be applauded by students of medieval literature and especially by Arthurian scholars.
